In 2021, Septemper, China carried out the “double reduction” policy. It aims to ease schoolwork burden on primary and junior high school students. The policy also calls for reducing homework and after-school courses in off-campus tutoring institutions, improving the quality of education and regulating after-class activities.
I think the policy is good for us. Our homework has been clearly less than before since it was carried out, so that we have enough time to process new knowledge now. And we have more time to stay with our families and friends from whom we can learn much about real life. This is a much better way to learn things than just hitting the books. We can also spend more time taking part in clubs and activities we like.
Although we feel less stress than before, self-discipline becomes very important. We have to balance the schoolwork and after-school activities. We also should finish our homework on time. Moreover, listening to the teachers carefully in class is the most important key. FOtherwise, we will fall behind others.
